Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Susan Rose Tang.
I believe there is a part of you that already knows how to heal—even when life has made that feel difficult to access.
As a Vietnamese and Chinese Canadian and the daughter of refugees, I understand that our stories are shaped not only by what happens within us, but also by our families, cultures, identities, relationships, and the expectations we inherit. As an eldest daughter, caregiver, and neuroexpansive person, I also recognize how easily we can become accustomed to caring for others, adapting to our surroundings, or performing the version of ourselves we believe is expected. These experiences have deeply informed how I understand healing and the way I show up in the therapeutic relationship.
As a Psychotherapist & Registered Social Worker (OCSWSSW), my hope is to create a space where you can feel safe enough to slow down, become curious about yourself, and explore the parts of you that may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or difficult to understand. I believe that we all carry an inherent capacity for healing, though sometimes life experiences, relationships, culture, and the burdens we’ve learned to carry can make that capacity feel far away. I would be honoured to hold that space with you—with warmth, with curiosity, and with care.
I support people navigating shame, stress, trauma, grief, guilt, loss and life transitions. I primarily practice from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, where I am a Certified IFS Level 3 Therapist with advanced trainings in ancestral work exploring legacy and cultural burdens, betrayal and relational trauma, and somatic sensations. I see IFS as an invitation to become curious about the different parts of ourselves—rather than judging, silencing, or trying to get rid of them. Together, we can explore what these parts may be carrying, how they learned to protect you, and what becomes possible when they no longer have to carry everything alone. I also draw from EMDR, mindfulness, attachment, and other trauma-informed approaches when they support the work we are doing together.
You don’t have to do this perfectly. You don’t even have to know where to begin.
We can start there, together.
